Pluk

Pluk Amsterdam - sweets

The sister of slightly more indulgent café Ree7, Iris Zeilstra’s second daytime destination Pluk is designed with Instagram in mind. I’m talking floor-to-ceiling French-style windows, a marble counter decked out with tempting treats and baskets filled with colorful fruits and veggies. And that’s just for starters.

Pluk Amsterdam - unicorn treats

Walk around the rest of this café meets interior design store, and you’ll suddenly feel the urge to buy everything in sight. Not that we necessarily need another notebook, a pink unicorn-shaped mug and chocolate bars wrapped in galaxy paper, but that’s not the point. The point is, Pluk is a paradise for anyone who loves to feast their eyes and soul.

Pluk Amsterdam - chicken and avocado on toast

Because yes, the food is good too. Your bowl of blended fruit might come out blue, topped with a mermaid tail or with a cute little cone (it’s a unicorn, in case you’re wondering), everything is made fresh with as many organic products as possible. Usually I’m drawn to sweets, but I love Pluk’s savory creations. Their breads are thickly spread (namely avocado and hummus), piled high with veggies (zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes), and finished off with spiced sauces or more protein.

Pluk Amsterdam - veggie wrap

If you’re really hungry, the veggie wrap is literally stuffed to the brim with vegetables, brown beans and corn, served with veggie chips and leafy greens on the side. A healthy choice, because you’ll never be able to walk passed those unicorn donuts without taking one to go.
