After selling beautiful baked goods at Netil Market for eight years, Victoria Yum has opened its very first cake shop in Hackney Wick. Tucked away alongside the creative units on Main Yard, Victoria Yum is still as quaint looking as ever with flowers across the shop front and of course, on your cake.
But the creativity flows beyond the decoration, with a line-up of treats including Victoria sponge sandwiches (a hand-held delight spread with cheesecake, banana buttercream or mango raspberry jam), one-bite muffins (packed with peaches, raspberries or blueberries) and layer cakes in next-level flavours. Here, your cake is made super spongy and moist by adding in fruity oils, whole clementines or coconut, while frostings range from rose-infused cream cheese to swirls of greek yoghurt.
Cupcakes take on a life of their own too. Victoria Yum swaps standard sprinkles for dinosaur confetti and decorates frostings with chocolate flakes, gold-dusted cherries or bite-sized brownies. It’s everything you wanted as a child, served in a setting that is just as cheerful as your cake.
