Coffee Sometime

Coffee Sometime Amsterdam - toasted brioche

The latest addition to Amsterdam’s café scene, Coffee Sometime promises to turn so-called plans into reality. “Let’s grab coffee sometime” is often synonymous with never, especially in this fast-paced society, but not anymore. This light-filled, dream of a space begs to be introduced into your friend’s life, not next week or tomorrow, but now. Because while the rest of Amsterdam cycles past swiftly, Coffee Sometime makes you slow down with a warm, Scandinavian-style design (think navy blue tones, light wooden furnishings and lots of white), Colombian-sourced coffee, and a short yet standout selection of all-day breakfast fare.

Coffee Sometime Amsterdam - pumpkin shakshuka

Take your pick of cinnamon-spiced roasted pear on top of toasted brioche, a seasonally-minded shakshuka that swaps tomatoes for pumpkin, or avocado toast covered in parmesan. Huge in flavor but small in size, these dishes leave you with just enough room for dessert. The line-up changes, but I’ve seen a delicate-looking layer cake (alternating honey with caramel cream) and cookies ranging from gigantic chocolate chip to dark chocolate with sea salt.

Coffee Sometime might be in the heart of Amsterdam, but it combines Copenhagen’s hygge lifestyle with New York’s thriving all-day cafe culture (and a menu to match). Breakfast at 3pm? Let’s do it sometime.
